Dear New Believer
Letter of Welcome
Hello everyone,
It’s been a minute and some, and I truly miss writing to you all. I hope you have all been good and life has been good to you. For some time now, I have had the idea to write a letter series, inspired by Paul’s letter to the church, to new believers on various matters of our faith, sharing insights, encouragement, and warnings, depending on the context. It will be titled “Dear New Believer” However, conversations of truth in our faith are not only for new believers. The gospel is for everyone. Like Paul and Peter have said on different occasions,
"Therefore, I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder..."
— 2 Peter 1:12 –13 (ESV)
"Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you."
— Philippians 3:1 (ESV)
It is good for us, older believers, always to be mindful of the truth we once heard and believed.
That being said, welcome to the letter series: Dear New Believer.
Dear New Believer,
I am writing to you this day to welcome you to the greatest family both on this side of eternity and beyond. God, in His kindness and great mercy, knew that we could not save ourselves from the coming wrath on all of ungodliness and decided to pay the penalty of our sin by giving His life in exchange for ours. Moreover, He knew that we who embrace this new life would need relationships to walk this journey with, and He adopted us into His family, becoming our Father and constantly adding brothers and sisters to us daily. Glory to His name!
So, welcome home, dear new believer. We are glad to have you here, and may the joys of your salvation remain with you always.
Rooting for you always,
Eva Dan-Yusuf
